Stupid gaps in Winamp!

I really really love winamp and it's definitely my fave player, but there's one thing that really anoys me about it and it is when you're listening to a continuous CD, but which has track cuts in it, winamp makes 1/2 seccond gaps between the tracks. It's so anoying and really spoils listening pleasure especially if the CD is very well mixed by a good DJ or of course quite a few bands album are like this where there's not really a gap in between the tracks. I just got hold of 'the trip', the latest in this CD series, this one butifulley mixed by guys from Snow patrol, but I so wish it wasn't interrupted by this winamp thing. Yes I know there are other solutions like:
1. Listening the CD in WMP, but I hate WMP.
2. Listening it in regular stereo, but that's broken.
3. Downloading another mp3 player, but I like everything else in winamp so I wouldn't like to ditch winamp just because of this. I been trying to find an answer to this question for years all over the place, but haven't found an answer as yet, and just getting this new mixed CD reminded me of that slight annoyance again, so wonder if maybe someone here might have a solution to this. Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Hey there internet king there is a sqr cross fader for win amp. iIf you go to jfw lite then to programs then to the bottom of the page to the win amp web site you can get the sqr cross fadedr from there.

I think in the latest winamp, it has a crossfade option built into it. I'm not a screenreader user, so I wouldn't know if the latest version is accessible or not though.

There are actually several gapless audio winamp plugins out there. I'm not sure what any of them are called, but I'm sure if you do a search on www.winamp.com you'll find what you're looking for. I have one that came with the FLAC tools, and it does a reasonably good job. There are still gaps, but they're much shorter. Keep in mind though that as with cross fading plugins, you're going to loose your ability to rewind and fast forward quickly because of the buffering that has to happen.
